globalisation / diversity

We’re so consumed by the world and culture we live in that we often forget that there is probably something about existence we know nothing about, one that we probably all share. And that’s why globalisation seen from this perspective (from this assumption) is a great way to approach the future. Getting rid of what doesn’t need to be there anymore, unifying cultures - in order to expand human knowledge - at the risk of humanity’s greatest fear, monocultures, being taken over by AI, or erasing human cultural skills and know how? The inevitable extinction or liberation of the human race is to be seen with awe, and perhaps more wonder than fear.
Globalisation is probably not a good idea when it aims to simplify existence. distil it to a few manageable systems shared by everyone. We all instinctively know that one language, one ideal shape, one food type is likely to create problems in the long run.
It’s not to say that more technology is the answer to everything - but it’s the only tool to find expand human knowledge - from an idiot’s perspective, myself, this means it’s one step closer to understanding more about the world we dont get to see, if there is one.

Culture in many ways is the method of survival to its immediate surroundings.
Food as I’m learning now as a cultural survival interaction with nature is important to preserve to create biodiversity.
In architecture, diverse methods of construction are important? Probably and arguably as critical to food biodiversity. Traditional forms of building are so unique to their environment, modern technology can perhaps outperform a traditional buildingn method - but what happens if the material reliance to create this technology is for some reason no longer available , a new methods of constitution will arise?
Globalisation attempts to simplify function, taste, art. And as we’ve seen in ‘eating to extinction’, simplifying something we dont really understand is problematic and might end up backfiring.
does globalisation create another set of complexity? another set of biodiversity? With food, it seems like the more sub variation there are, the less concentrated their value is. That’s just hilarious to think about from a reproductive aspect - the more cultures that mix together, the less
