Letting others make costly mistakes
FD
I think, one of the most interesting things I learned during my time at work these past few years, is that my boss needs to let his clients make mistakes - it doesn’t seem to work any other way. And I need to let him or they make mistakes as well even if it costs them a lot of time, it was hard to do at first, and I haven’t fully figured out how to deal with it yet, perhase I don’t need to, it’s not as disruptive as I think it is. Just as they let me make my own little mistakes at times.
Some mistakes are quite sitruptive from the clinet’s side of things - eg. they did’’t listen to what my boss had to tell them about submitting a design proposal for the planning authority - costed them thousands of pounds in time and money to keep all the consultant working to eddit the planing application.
